Autumn 2011
Living in the UK makes it a harder for me to visit Leba. But I go there whenever I can.
I went home in September, just for the end of the holiday. I must say that the weather was sill stunning. The wind was strong but the shining sun made my daily walks a memorable experience.
Here are some pics from Leba.

Leba throughout the seasons
-Spring
Spring is the best month for visiting Leba. Many of the shops and restaurants are opened, the air is clear and everything comes back to life.
It is still too cold for sunbathing, but the walks along the beach are just a delight.
Afterwards you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in one of the cafes or just go shopping in town, where you can find excellent bargains.
-Summer
Leba has established itself among Polish people as the best summer resort in Poland. In fact, it is known as the Summer Capital of Poland.
The town is crowded with tourist, the restaurants and pubs are full and there are number of night clubs, where you can dance till dawn.
July and August are the ideal months for those, who like to party and let themselves go. However, many families with children come here at this time as well to enjoy the sunshine and the beach.
-Autumn
Similar to Spring-this is the ideal time to relax and benefit from the clean air.
It is quiet, but still beautiful and all of the restaurants and shops are opened till late October.
This is the season of wild mushroom, blueberries and strawberries picking. If you are after organic food-this is the perfect time. You can buy these fruits of the forest at every stall and shop in Leba or from the people selling them by the country roads.
-Winter
During this season the town is half-deserted. It is very cold and very often there are heavy snowfalls. However, if you would like to experience peace and quiet and see how beautiful the Baltic Sea can be during the winter-then this is the perfect time for you.
During the last few years people of Leba have had white Christmas with 1 meter of snow (!).
We also recommend visiting this town during New Year. There are a number of balls and parties, organised in the hotels and clubs. From just £10 a night you can enjoy whole night of partying with food buffet and bottle of champagne.

Health benefits
Leba is a health resort. The sea, surrounding forests, lakes and dunes create specific microclimate with mild air. All the above combined together produce salt and iodine, which is perfect for those, suffering from asthma, throat and lung problems. So, if you are planning to come here outside of summer season or are one of the unfortunate ones and your holiday is spoilt because of rain, do not worry. Wrap up warm, take your waterproofs and go for a stroll along the beach. Breathe in deeply and feel the energising and healing qualities of the air.
The iodine in the air makes you also feel better and can uplift your mood instantly. Climatologists say that this special climate is even better and more beneficial for human body than the one in Canary Islands.
The best time to benefit from the special climate of Leba is Autumn and Spring, when the air is purest and the Sea produces the largest amount of iodine.

Leba-natural beauty
Leba is situated at the end of Leba River, between Lebsko Lake and Slovinski National Park-which is listed as National UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
People from all over the world come here to see great sand dunes. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that, as the wind blows it carries the sand and the dunes move slowly inland at a speed of 3-10 cm per year. Some dunes are as high as 30 meters above sea level.
The pine forests cover 80% of the whole Park and are inhabited by 257 species of birds. The most interesting are: erne, eagle, owl, crow and swan. Among mammals one has to point out: deer, elk, wild pig and hare.
One of the things the people of Leba are proud of are the white sand beaches. Last year they were voted the cleanest beaches on the Polish coast. They are also surrounded by dunes and pine forests and the sunsets and sunrises are the most spectacular in Europe.
The Baltic Sea provides all sort of sea food. Leba’s restaurants buy fish directly from the fishermen and you can be sure that the fish you are eating for dinner was caught the very same morning.

Leba-my town
Leba-a small town on the Polish coast, which has only 2000 people. It is situated 120 km from Gdansk, which is just 2 hourst drive.
Leba's beaches are one of the cleanest in Poland. Their white sands are almost blinding in the sunshine. The air is pure and smells with salt. What is the most interesting, it contains iodine, which can be very beneficial for those suffering from asthma or any other breathing problems. Climatologists say that the air here is purer and better for humans than the air in Canary Islands!
Leba is surrounded by pine forests. It is also 5 km from the Slovinski National Park and the great moving dunes, which lay between two lakes. The biggest dune is almost 30 meters high. Imagine the view you will get when you climb it! It is just breath-taking!!!
I am posting some pictures of the beach in Leba.
More information to follow.

Starting!
Hello and welcome to my Blog!
My name is Joanna and I come from Poland and currently live in London.
Last week I attended a very interesting course on proof reading and editing texts, which is very useful for my boring job.
I had always been interested in English language. I had a chat with the trainer and he advised me to start writing and see if I enjoy that.
I must admit, the last time I wrote something else rather than business letter was in 1995. I stopped writing when I fell in love with my husband (probably I need to have my heart broken to be creative). I haven't written any fiction nor poem in English in my whole life! English is also my second language, so please forgive me, dear reader, for all the mistakes. I might get better with practice.
Anyway, I thought hard about what I could write about and I've decided I would write about my town-about something I know and love.
Here you will find everything you need to know about this beautiful town and what to do when you get there. I will also try to give you some interesting facts about culture and history.
I hope you will enjoy reading my blog.
